If you've got kids, over-a-month long summer school holidays is just around the corner. What are your plans? Sending your kids to a summer camp? (lucky you!!) Are you off to a nice holiday destination? With the COVID-19 travel restrictions easing down globally, maybe you are planning to travel internationally? I have not gone back to Japan for the last 4 years and I am dying to see my family and friends. Hope this will be the year that we can finally travel.
During the last two COVID years, as I call it, we did manage to make a few small trips both domestically and internationally within in Europe. And the more we travel, the more eager my 4-year-old became with packing her own bag. She would yell "HOW MANY T-SHIRTS MAMA???" and I would yell back "FIVE!!!" And at one point, I got very tired of this interaction that I decided to make a visual packing checklist for her.
This Kids Travel Packing Checklist includes the images of essential packing items and the descriptions are written in 3 languages: English, Dutch and Japanese. The three languages we use at home. You can download & print as you go or do what I have done and simply laminate it. I laminated mine and use a POSCA pen so we can keep reusing it for our future trips. It helps my daughter to be independent and feel responsible for her own things. It is quite cute to see her count the number of underwear and check the item off her list.
You can download and print the checklist here:
Happy travels and if you manage to use the checklist with your child, I would love to hear your feedback!
